Where to Buy Big Bras!

Lingerie shopping is traditionally a fun experience. I know women who buy new panties whenever they want to cheer themselves up. And in some ways, lingerie is how we mark someone’s passage into adulthood. Mothers and grandmothers buy girls trainer bras, and then their first real bras. Teen girls sneakily buy their first sexy lingerie, feeling a little naughty (I got mine at Walmart. It was a terrible red lace contraption!). Then of course there are the bachelorette parties and the bridal lingerie! And what about nursing bras for new mothers? Our whole culture of growing up as a woman is built around underwear! But busty ladies are often left out. For us, lingerie shopping is a chore, and that’s not fair!

Personally, I think this lingerie culture is great! I just wish I could be in on the fun. And so, I have been collecting a list of places where curvy girls like me can find high quality lingerie in the sizes we need. I hope this list is of help!

Also, If you buy your bras from somewhere not on this list, let me know. I am always looking for new stores!

Specialty / Luxury Lingerie StoresIMG_1132

If you have one of these in your area, then you are truly blessed. I suggest doing a quick google search for lingerie stores in your area. This would not be a chain store like Victoria’s Secret, nor would it be a kinky lingerie store. This would be a specialty store that carries higher quality brands and more rare bra sizes. Often their employees are really knowledgeable and will give great personalized advice. If there is one of these stores in your area, SUPPORT THEM. They will give the best service you can possibly hope to find. Your boobies will thank you!

However, luxury lingerie stores are surprisingly rare. If there is not one in your area, do not despair! You have options!

Shopping Online

I am constantly on the lookout for online bra stores that cater to larger cup sizes. If you have a favorite store that is not on my list, let me know! I will definitely check them out.

Bravisimo

This was the first online bra store that I found when I started searching many years ago. They are wonderful! There is a extensive selection of fashionable bras in every style you could ever want. They really have a focus on making fun lingerie available to curvy ladies! Yay! And on top of that they have bathing suits, stylish clothes, and even winter coats specially tailored to fit a busty woman. The only downside is that they are a British company, so their prices are a little high. Their sizes are also different, so you will have to convert them to North American sizes if you are over here (This chart can help!).

Butterfly Collection

This store has a great selection of really high quality bras. They also have a really great service where they do bra fittings over skype! This sounds particularly good for women who are new to online bra shopping! I am a little disappointed by the styles that they offer. Most of there stuff is a little on the boring side. But overall, this is a good place to stock up on really good basic bras. I would especially suggest checking out their clearance section because when they put stuff on sale, they mark it way down! Also, it should be noted that Butterfly Collection only ships within the US and Canada.

Her Room

While this store does not specifically target busty women, they do have an extensive collection of large cup sizes from really great brands. And their website makes it super easy to only search bras that come in sizes DD and larger, so you don’t have to sort through all the bras you can’t wear. They also have a really good selection of swimsuits. There is a little bit of everything at this store, so I think most people will find something that they like.

Linda The Bra Lady

This store also does not specifically target the busty girls, but they carry almost everything under the sun. They have many, many styles to choose from, and they carry very good brands. They also have good swimsuits in a lot of different styles. This is the only online store I have found that sells surgical and mastectomy bras in large cup sizes. That is a very niche market, but if you need em, you need em. And, if you have any questions, you can email their bra experts and get advice.

Amazon

Usually I think it is important to support the smaller retailers, especially those who work really hard to meet our specific needs. If you can, please do. However, sometimes a busty girl is on a budget, and there is no shame in that! Amazon does carry a lot of bras, and they can be significantly cheaper than what you would find anywhere else. If you are going to go this rout, I suggest that you search for a specific bra or brand that you are already familiar with. This way you know the quality of what you are ordering.

This list of where to buy big bras is constantly evolving. Let me know if you have opinions on these stores, or if you have any suggestions.

I watched Double Divas on Amazon…they’re pretty funny and informative on the subject. I was wearing the wrong bra size for years and had no idea. https://liviraelingerie.com/

Petticoat Fair in Austin is good but a little on the expensive side. http://www.petticoatfair.com/
I was able to find a good bra for my wedding dress there.

I have actually been to Petticoat and Fair. I had a really great experience there! I had no idea that their website was so so extensive, though I am a little disappointed by the site’s searchability. I am planning a list of great brick-and-mortar lingerie stores, and I will definitely include these. Thanks so much!
